thought that might be the case with the fixed, that'll do me just fine. at that price i just dont see how anyone can complain.

Talking about the Fixed Scarlet as a standalone rather than kit in order to opt for larger LCD...Wrote post above with my hot air though ;()

Obviously though if you are paying for everything separately it will cost more than the package so you would probably be halfway to buying a larger LCD anyway.
The fixed doesn't ship with an EVF, I presume you mean LCD?

I guess they just figured the smaller LCD would fit in with the majority of people's plans who opted for the fixed. I mean the idea of the fixed is to keep costs as low as possible, so most will want the smaller LCD.

If you want bigger, more expensive accessories, then like both yourself and Jarred have said: opt for the 2/3" brain and add your own bits and peices =]

Is the Mini Prime mount the same as the RED Prime mount? i.e. would the Electronic RED mount work for both lenses?

btw the pricing on the Mini Primes is absolutely fabulous...can't wait to see some samples!

Sorry freudian slip meant to say LCD. Yeah man I realise that...and will do as I said planning on buying both eventually, it was just that the Fixed was offered before as a standalone piece which isn't speciified anymore. The idea of the kit is to provide the BASE minimum to be able to go out there and capture isn't it.

Or insurance. Again... it would be great if this sort of thing had an official one stop shop system when ordering like my recommendation for REDsurance.

Ok, so the price is doable for the fixed. I spend a bit more than that on a camera that did much less. Now the timetable, I cringe when I see the 2 month window. How close will we be to hitting in this mark? I already automatically added 2 more months on to that before I figured I may have one in my hands. Is this an accurate assumption? I know the plan was to produce enough to not have a preorder system, if everybody that is hyped up for one will buy one than I figure you would need to produce a few thousand of the fixed version right off the bat. Is that kind of production factored into the current time table or will that be later after the first ones drop?

Sorry for my same ramblings on the time table. The specs look great as I knew they would be. The greatest camera in the world, aka Scarlet, won't help me if I can't get one in my hands. Hopefully this can be a reality in 2010!

Jarred, when can we expect to put an order and will it be available in RED europe so we dont have to worry about the import?
    Thank you for your time.
