If I had to put a directors name next to the tag 'original', Christopher Nolans name would be it.
Copying? what are you talking about.
If anything the Joker character played by Heath owed a lot to Jack Nicholson

edit: or maybe you are confusing copying with remake re:Insomnia?

I'm having high hopes for this movie.

    New trailer kicks ass.....

Interesting that they seem to be playing up the IMAX angle in the marketing. If a lot of the picture was shot on 65mm, it should be able to play well after a transfer to 70mm IMAX. I wonder if the blowup will done optically?? I guess if there are effects involved, no. It might end up being part optical, part DI/DMR.

Thanks for making me aware of the new trailer.

I must say there were a lot of familiar faces there from Nolan's other films – almost to a point of distraction. When combined with the reoccurring theme of mental perspectives that dominated Memento and featured strongly in Insomnia, Following and Prestige, it is not hard to see that Nolan likes and depends on his comfort zone. I would like to see him push out from that zone in the future and work with fresh faces in the cast and different themes in the plot. Needless to say this is not a criticism as I am a HUGE Nolan fan and have been from back when Memento came out. Can't wait to see Inception.

Book your tickets now, tell your friends to book their tickets - and try not to watch any more trailers or TV spots. Also, consider booking the screening right after that too.

And - Resist! Resist the urge to click that link. Just to be safe, I recommend you simply don't turn on the TV until you've seen it.

If you're in a movie theatre and see those studio logos made of cities - and it's difficult for you to dash out of the place quickly - just block your ears and close your eyes for about two and a half minutes.

You can practice measuring this length of time at home with a stopwatch. Just be careful you don't fall into a dream. But don't worry - even if you do see stuff in a trailer or advert, there are still lots of surprises.

If I weren't involved, I'd follow all of the rules I just outlined above, but otherwise I'll just have to sit here and cackle about how awesome it is. Hehehehehehe. And yes, I can answer any PM'ed questions about the movie... when it's released :)

Thanks - worked on the team that made the original titles for the teaser and trailer #1 (where the city becomes a maze, then becomes the word INCEPTION). These new ones in the latest trailer (where the title is itself a city) are from a very talented source - EG not me ;)

BTW, Anyone noticed how nicely the Inception title matches the logo of Nolan's production company - Syncopy? It's awesome when you see a big budget movie with all of the personal stamp of a director that you usually only get in an indie move. Very courageous move that I'm sure everyone wishes the studios did more often. Like Memento with a gigantic budget. Go see go see go see!

I'll go and track him down in the Canadian hinterland when I have time. I'll put up WANTED signs and use his Hef image with the RED speedo.

This film will blow away audiences for sure. Nolan is at the top of his game and in my opinion, he is the on of the most creative director currently working, he may be the best director currently working. For one, story comes first with him. Cameron may be pushing tech (in the wrong direction), but Nolan crafts films that stun both visually and mentally. Keep in mind that he is still young and has many other great films ahead of him. I expect him to rise the ranks and be remembered as one of the best directors of all time. He has yet to make a bad film which is rare. Many of the masters had at least one financial and critical flop, not so with Nolan. Honestly, the visuals for Inception look way better than any of the CGI stuff from Avatar.
"The screen is a magic medium. It has such power that it can retain interest as it conveys emotions and moods that no other art form can hope to tackle."- Stanley Kubrick.

"Touched by a masterpiece, a person begins to hear in himself that same call of truth which prompted the artist to his creative act. When a link is established between the work and its beholder, the latter experiences a sublime, purging trauma."- Andrei Tarkovsky
