Ok, so I've cut M proxies in FCP, xml out to Clipfinder, conform, and back into FCP, then out to Color. In Color, I can use the color tab so I know I'm linked to the R3D files, however, after the correction and render, I do a send to FCP and the clips are still 1024 x 512 (M clips). They are corrected in the new FCP sequence.

I'm trying to create a final 2K.mov sequence, so at what point do I re-link to the R3D files? right now it seems I'm just color correcting the proxy, although the R3D may be attached.

Do I need to do a XML export from Color, and go back to Clipfinder? I searched and searched but can't find anything.

You need to change your Color Project Setting to 2048x1024.

wait though, it renders a file which is the correct size, so that's good. I can watch it in quicktime and it's fine but the sequence it sends to FCP is still 1024 x 512. when i play the sequence it's zoomed in a whole lot.

When you run conform in Clipfinder try selecting "Adjust sequence width to:", then import and check sequence settings back in FCP before sending to Color.

Yeah, Michael, that seemed to do the trick. In Clipfinder, I clicked that box and entered 2048 x 1024 as the size. In FCP the sequence was that size, although the clip used was still 1024 x 512. I sent that to Color, which saw it as 2048 x 1024, did a grade (RED tab available), rendered and sent back to FCP. I now have a rendered 2K which fits the sequence and doesn't need any rendering. awesome. Thanks guys.
