10.6" diagonal - meant to complement the Red LCD (and your much larger client / color correction monitor), not compete with it.

I sold all of the ones that I have right now. The next batch will be going out when I am back in LA (early Oct or so)...

That is assuming the HDMI input on my monitor actually works with the Red's HDMI out, of course! My monitor has so far accepted everything thrown at it (PAL / NTSC, 720p, 1080i), is even supposed to support HDCP over HDMI, etc, but I won't take anyone's money until it's actually tested. It's tricky - the Dell 24" doesn't work with the HV20's HDMI out at 1080, for example. Nobody expected that! But mine does work at 1080, so I am hopeful...

well, we've got a Marshall R70P-HDA monitor (http://www.lcdracks.com/monitors/vr70phda.html). I was curious if that would be ideal at all for the RED. I'm really banging my head against the wall right now debating between the EVF and the LCD.

The $1600 Marshall you linked to only has HD component inputs and is only 800x480. It needs HD-SDI. You'd need to buy the $2000 list R70P-HD-SDI. And then it's still only 800x480. Again, I'd rather get the Red screen (or my $850 larger, higher-res one).

If you're choosing between the Red LCD and EVF, I think you should wait and see how the Red LCD does in daylight. If it sucks (like most LCDs do), and you have some shoots planned that involve you being in sun, then you will need the EVF, IMHO.

I was too until I went to NAB and put my eye up to the EVF, then I've never looked back, EVF all the way!

Haha, I do think that Vaio is an incredibly beautiful computer. I wish I had one!

Just not sure how you'd use it as a monitor due to lack of inputs.

It would be a ton of fun to have on set though for lots of other things...

    Hi Bruce,

Your LCD looks sweet, and I'm sure tastes sweet too. Count me in for a future order, but not the next batch, more like early 2008, I first have a somewhat large payment I need to me make somewhere around the 10th of November, and while I usually try and delay my payments, for some odd reason I want to make this one as soon as possible !

    Cheers,
    Damien
