Is it possible to save an EDL from Vegas that opens in Final CutPro?
    How can I do this?
    Is it possible?

    Hi Antonio,

I think this can be pretty tricky, if not impossible.

    1. You could try going from Sony Vegas to Adobe Premiere to FCP via Automatic Duck, as I think Vegas and Premiere use the same AAF standard.

    2. I think some people managed it using a Vegas script to convert and edl, there's an explanation and the script on creative cow here:

Not sure if that will work either though.

    3. Have you tried simply exporting as CMX3600 *.edl from Vegas straight into FCP?

What version of Vegas are you running?

    Regards,

    Mikey

    Thanks Mikey,

    This is what is happening.

I am shooting a music video, but I don't have the time to do the off line, so a friend is doing it on Vegas.

As I have REDRocket and I work on a Mac with FCP 7, what we would like to do is he does the first cut on his machine, then we bring the cut over to my mac and we can do all color corrections on my machine.

Or is it better for us to start on my machine, use the power of the Rocket, do the color corrections (one lights) and convert to format that Sony Vegas will have no problem dealing with.

Or are we just wasting time, and he can do it all on his system?

My idea was that with the Rocket we can do the corrections and conversions so much faster.

What would you suggest we do?
