Hi, I am having problems running RED undead.
I am in no way a tech/terminal kind of guy, I am the kind who really appreciates a good GUI! But I do exactlly as it says in the instructions and the terminal just triumphantly says "DONE!", and NOTHING is done...
This is the disk:
/dev/disk1
#: TYPE NAME SIZE IDENTIFIER
0: GUID_partition_scheme *320.1 GB disk1
1: EFI 209.7 MB disk1s1
2: Apple_HFS Macintosh HD 319.7 GB disk1s2
And here are just a few of my unsuccesful attempts:
eirik-tyrihjels-mac-pro:~ eiriktyrihjel$ redundead /dev/disk1 /volumes/Machintosh HD/REDfile4K-vol6-1/redfiles
Output Dir: /volumes/Machintosh
Done!
eirik-tyrihjels-mac-pro:~ eiriktyrihjel$
eirik-tyrihjels-mac-pro:~ eiriktyrihjel$ redundead /dev/rdisk1 /volumes/4K-vol6-1/redfiles/
Output Dir: /volumes/4K-vol6-1/redfiles/
Done!
eirik-tyrihjels-mac-pro:~ eiriktyrihjel$ redundead /dev/rdisk1 /volumes/4K-vol6-1/redfiles/
Output Dir: /volumes/4K-vol6-1/redfiles/
Done!
eirik-tyrihjels-mac-pro:~ eiriktyrihjel$ redundead /dev/rdisk1 /admin/Desktop/
Output Dir: /admin/Desktop/
Done!
eirik-tyrihjels-mac-pro:~ eiriktyrihjel$ redundead /dev/rdisk1 /Users/admin/Desktop/4K-vol6-1/redfiles
Output Dir: /Users/admin/Desktop/4K-vol6-1/redfiles
Done!
eirik-tyrihjels-mac-pro:~ eiriktyrihjel$ redundead /dev/rdisk1 /Users/admin/Desktop/REDfilessave
Output Dir: /Users/admin/Desktop/REDfilessave
Done!
eirik-tyrihjels-mac-pro:~ eiriktyrihjel$
The difference in the location/naming of the output folder is a result of me trying different things.
The disk is full of R3D data, out of which there are two empty folders, that we would like to try and recover. At this moment I am unsure if we can live without the data that is supposed to be in those folders.
Any help on how to properly run redundead is very much appreciated, keep in mind that I am a fish out of the water around terminal, or directory structures, my mistake(s) could be very very basic, thank you!
