Hi all,
First let me start off with properly introducing myself to the forum for those who are interested. I've been following this whole community for about 8 months on a daily basis, but have never posted anything until now. I come from a DVX100 background which I've happily used for about three years. About two years ago, I started my own production company with a friend of mine straight out of school, and things have been great for us so far. We started off with corporate videos, but now we've also created our first tv commercials and have our first tv program for national tv. We mostly shoot on DVX, but on occasions we rent cameras like a Panasonic HDX900. I have only been close to a film camera, but never actually touched one.
Our main target for the future is to get into high-end commercials, and although we realise we are far from that point now - mostly due to lack of knowledge and experience - we have decided to at least invest in our own high quality camera to get a step closer. After putting aside alot of doubt, we've decided a few months ago to take the plunge: we have ordered ourselves a RED ONE! We plan on going for the Nikons with that.
We are literally putting all of our finances into that camera and taking a bit of a risk on this, but we somehow feel that this will be the best investment we can possibly make and see it as a way of being ahead of our competitors and the best strategic step to help us get better jobs. So ladies and gentlemen, this spring we will be ready to rock..! Just like everybody else here, we can't wait!
Now, the thing I actually wanted to post for:
We plan on going to IBC to actually see the screening in 4K and to meet the RED team. However I am not sure whether the normal entrance ticket of about 50 Euros covers the screening as well. Does anyone know? Or do we need to buy the 550 Euro ticket in order to see that?
Thanks for the fantastic forum!
Best regards,
goal (couldn't think of a cool nickname that quickly)
