Michael Zeisse was in France yesterday and discovered another thing that sets the CFF-1 apart from other follow focus units…when using the RED top mounts or side handles to support 19mm rods on top of the camera you can mount the unit ABOVE the camera body and lens! The drive direction remains “cine” and seems to be a rather elegant solution for cumbersome builds with large lenses. The line of sight to the lens witness mark is completely unobstructed. Here’s a quick and dirty snapshot:

We beat on one of the prototypes for a couple days - and I can tell you - this is a solid, GREAT piece of gear. I'd actually consider it a "must have".
