I have been led to believe that eventually Birger will eliminate breathing via zoom compensation.

Which means that there will be no breathing elimination/reduction if we use any stills primes with the birger mount, as they physically cannot zoom.

    Would this be correct?

Yes, the breathing elimination will only work with zoom's not primes.

You need to be able to zoom the image to compensate for the breathing zoom that occurs when changing focus. Primes do not have the ability to change focal length and zoom therefore this technique cannot be used with them.

They are indeed devising something (As I believe Curt is) that will eventually work to do this for zoom's but you are correct Primes will still show breathing. Some of the better still primes don't breath too noticably anyway though.

And with 4K a little post compensation is not really a big deal, except for the computer time.
