Wow! The fact that you can make out the buildings from the skyline from that distance is just amazing... If the Mysterium-X preforms this type of magic in the Scarlet cameras, I will be one happy guy!
Really impressive stuff.
How does the noise / color hold up if you pull the white balance to more cool tones rather than the orange from the sodium lights?
Can't wait to get mine upgraded... Too bad there's like another 1000 people in line ahead of me. Oh well.
I am gearing up for a DP job end of February... really wish scarlet was here so I didn't have to use the clients HVX. These cameras, whatever your price point, also provide something more esoteric but incredibly important. The ability to overcome a clients limitations by bringing along the most powerful tools at an affordable cost. I would bring my future scarlet along for free if it meant avoiding the HVX, or similar... not that they aren't nice... for their target group. Scarlet lands price-wise in that same group, but (even if its half as successful as this test) it might as well be from another universe.
After reading the 7 pages here, I was trying to imagine what I was about to see. I was not prepared.
To hell with worrying about sounding like a fanboy- Red has done something truly extraordinary. AGAIN. The possibilities that this opens up are vast and delicious.
Thanks for posting, Mark. Your cameras are all grown up and gorgeous!
finally watched this.. MIND BOGGLING.. I have an urge to see your 2K version. Is this a possibility? I have a server you can upload to if you're interested..
