  1. #1 power up time
Now that people have these in their hands can you tell me how long it takes from power on to recording?

We are all waiting with fingers on the F5 key for any news from the early reservation holders. We have had none yet.

owning fcp here as well, i get a little bit annoyed by these os-geek comments of a few users here.

remember: fcp & osx as of now are (sadly) 2k only, offline for 4k, and 4k RT finishing is as of now windows and linux only.

so there are reasons to use other operation systems even if you are a fan of one in particular.

Furthermore, all people here are using x86 intel/amd pcs, no matter which operation system. can we therefore please refrain from platform-wars and leave that to other forums.

    thanks.

    there was one??

no offense, but I can care less about OSX or Windows = xxoo. Got both. They each have their uses.

i guess i really don't use my windows much for web browsing though.....

but no war here. nor do i care about the technology they are based on. as long as someone keeps making it easier for me to use and upgrade every two years to take my cash....that's all that matters.

sorry if i offended anyone with my remark---i sincerely oppologize

might add i've never been accused of being an osx geek before---i would take that as a compliment. But realistically i just get by on my machine. It's WAY to much machine for me...

    sorry then!
as platform-agnostic i am maybe to allergic to emotions towards operating systems.

I have it in the company/production all the times when people struggle which xsi/maya/3ds max after fx/combustion linux/osx/windows etc is better...and maybe i am a little bit to thin-skinned therefore :)

    ... cooperation is the keyword!

I am thinking about getting a second FCP license here, but i am still undecided. We have most systems on windows, and i will certainly need another 4k system in 2008...

ok, back to topic then :)

Well I am sure it will change, but we were timing it at 70 sec today.

Any info yet on running time for a RED brick: When in standby and when recording to CF?

Last update on this topic was with the beta cameras, with the old board, Reddrive and without the new cooling system.

F5 on mac and pc desktops is refresh for your browser. Unless your on a laptop in which case they use those function keys for all sorts of stuff. Sorry if I was unclear.
