    Hi,

I am using redrocket with rocketcine-x latest version and when trying to do a onelight prores 444 export I am getting washed out quicktimes. Has anyone had a similar problem? Is there a setting I should be particularly attentive to.

    Thanks

We were getting washed-out quicktimes from Redcine-X (we don't have a Red Rocket yet), but our issue was monitor calibration, specifically an issue with the ICC profile we had selected for that monitor. Changing the ICC profile matched what we could see in Redcine-X with the prores 4444s we were exporting out of it.

I'm still trying to learn as much as I can about color management, so hopefully someone who knows this area well can shed more light on this matter, but for what it's worth, this is how I understand the issue we were experiencing: From what we could see, changing the ICC profile of the monitor had no effect on the color of our footage in Redcine-X which seemed to be automatically recalibrating away from whatever new profile we had selected and back to how it wanted to look itself. This applied only to the RED footage in viewing window and not to the Redcine-X interface, which actually did change in line with the changing ICC profiles. The prores 4444 exports, however, were displayed according to whatever ICC profile was selected, which is what caused the discrepancy between the two on our monitor.
