Reading R3D over the regular 1gb ether (since it was on a local RAID on another machine) and back to the same disk location writing as TIFF files took 4 minutes on 2 minutes material. Mostly shot with 3K resized to 720p.

I'm reading some very long footage from AFS and writing to NFS on GraniteSTOR as ProRes444, One file is over 40GB but working flawlessly. Mac Book Pro is usually just sitting at the studio when it's not our on the road so to do with RED ROCKET and Mac Book Pro, then not to waist the Mac Pro's is really great. Mac Book Pro + RED ROCKET + GraniteSTOR is the winning combination.

By the way, I came to studio yesterday and someone had disconnected and took away the Mac Book Pro for some other testing. I saw the Magma with RED ROCKET sitting there hopelessly. But all I had to do is to connect the cable from the Mac Pro and there you go, RED ROCKET was working at x8 speed on Mac Pro. How great x8 Magma PCIe Expansion chassis is.
