Hi all, I'm trying to make some FLUT adjustments while previewing through the Red Rocket card via HDSDI, and al the other control parameters work when previewing to an external broadcast monitor, with the exception of the FLUT control. When I turn off the external monitor the FLUT control works.

    Any suggestions?

Colin, I assume you're using ROKCETcine-X then HDSDI out from the Red Rocket is not fully functioning. The shadow adjustment does not work neither on HDSDI. Deanan said it is being fixed.

everything is fine with my REDCINE-X (latest version b100) FLUT™, Shadow, Saturation, Contrast, Brightness, Exposure, Red, green, Blue, Lift, Gamma, Gain controls

using Tangent Wave, REDROCKET card with dual HDSDI out to dual HDSDI in of AJA Hi53G HDSDI to HDMI converter to HDMI in of HP DreamColor.

All worked perfect from the beginning, you just have to have a right and appropriate set up, that's it.

So again everything here works fine.

It works fine for everyone in RedCineX. As Kaku says, the problem is with RocketCineX, and is one that Red is aware of.

    Sorry,

that's right and I just saw it in RocketCineX that FLUT and Shadow are not responding at the "external" HDSDI out but at the opposite on the main app window it works.

Thanks everybody, appreciate the confirmation with Rocket Cine. Unfortunately I'm not loving REDCINE-X so much so far, I'm sure my love will grow as it grows ;-)

    Report: ROCKETcineX build 1740

Now FLUT™, Shadows,...etc... everything work fine with HD-SDI out.

    Thanks Deanan and RED Team.

Colin, you might like the REDCINE-X if you are running dual display and put away the view window to the second display. But I hear you, tho.

I use ROCKETcine-X because Hans' Flight Director let me render from XML.

Hey Kaku, thanks for the suggestion. I am running dual monitors, but I feel most confident in seeing the images coming through HD-SDI on our calibrated broadcast monitors. Although REDCINE-X has come a long way since it's first release, I still don't feel confident in it's stability when sitting with a client looking at shots. For me, RocketCine-X is far more stable, and reliable when working with clients, and I don't need to explain when it crashes or hangs that it's beta, then explain why I'm using beta software on their project.

I'm interested in Flight Director, where is that available? or is it a closed group that is using it? Any chance I could get my hands on it??

I am still waiting for the long ago promise of being to run .r3d files straight out using the Rocket Card to a HDCAM or HDCAM SR deck, with audio, with timecode, and with PsF as a workable option, but I don't think we are there quite yet, so in the mean time I work around the problems.

    all the best
    Colin
