I just read in this forum that it is possible to use a C-Mount lens on the upcoming Scarlet Camera.

My question is, how? In other words, is RED making a C-Mount Adapter for this camera? And, how can a "standard" 16mm lens like that "cover" the 2/3" Scarlet Sensor?

Also, if this is TRUE, then I assume you could also use one of these lenses on the RED in the 2K mode. ??

If someone would clarify this, I'd greatly appreciate it.

C-mount was one of the original announced interchangeable lens mount options announced for Scarlet.
I hope they have designed the mini-red mount so that c-mount lenses can be mounted with a screw on flange adapter like Bolex did with the EBM, but I am not optimistic about this.

2/3" video standard is roughly equal to the projection aperture of standard 16mm film so 16mm lenses cover it just fine. One reason for the format's popularity. It originated at a time when 16mm cams were used for most TV news field production and the lenses could be used on the old B&W vidicon cameras interchangeably with no difference in coverage angles or field of view.
