Buying a used Red ONE

Hi, not sure where to post this....

I'm interested in getting a RED One camera.... I see quite a few packages for sale, most of the owners want to sell their RED One, but keep their upgrade path for Epic.

How would this affect me as a buyer? Can I transfer it into my name and the seller still keep their upgrade place? Should the sale price be considerably lower, considering the serial will be marked by RED and no further (camera) upgrades will be possible? How would it affect my possibility to get the M-X chip?

I'm struggling to get my head around it all. First and foremost I need to make sure I legally and officially own the camera.

Jay, I do not see a way for you officially own a used camera where the original owner keeps upgrade path. Once owner ship is transferred, it is your camera. Original owner cannot remain in some upgrade queue. UNLESS, original owner opts for Stage 2 when eligible, gets their EPIC-X, then sells you their RED ONE. But then, you would have no upgrade path to EPIC.

Upon ownership transfer, delivery date transfers so you would be locked in queue at that point for M-X sensor upgrade.

Thanks, that is what I thought.

I guess I will have to wait for Epic ... seems crazy to buy a Red One so close (hopefully) to launch.
