Now you can use your RPPs on unmodified- completely stock Canon still cameras. Just finished first few test units . All you need to do is remove the PL mount and install the (very affordable) EOS mounts on your lenses.
    Advantages:
1.No modifications to your still camera or the lenses-your warranty is unaffected.
2.Perfect matching for VFX plates in hi resolution raw.
3.your B cam videos shot on Canon will also perfectly match (at least color, distortion, field etc. wise) you RedOne footage
    4. They will come with an integrated clip on support so there will be no weight on the camera mount and will allow lens changes in seconds.
    First few pics included
The chart and the outside shot with the 25mm RPP on T1i rebel.

    DUDE!
    Do they focus to infinity?

    I'm laughing here. 500$ camera, 5000$ lens!
Interesting steady shot alternative... if you can live with the issues.
Honestly though a PL mount on the camera seems to be a better option
considering how inexpensive a rebel is.

I'm not understanding - are we saying that the PL mounts need to be removed (which means its not tenable as a second camera on a Red shoot) - or are we saying that the clip on option will accommodate the PL section?

I am unclear because removing the PL mount (thereby causing Backfocus issues) would be unrealistic as a method for any kind of B cam option - or am I misreading?

Unfortunately that's the case for now.
More of a rental facility job I suppose...
I definitely recommend for it to be done by a professional.....
The EOS mounts are matched very closely to the PL counterparts so there should not be major BF issues- I just swapped the mount on the 25 mm and it was very close... no shimming.
I'm trying to keep the price for a set of 5 including the support under $1000-this is the only way to do that.
I do however have a quick change design but that would require new PL mounts and some other hardware- most likely double the price point.
Do you think it would be a better choice?
anyway- if interested please contact me at jacek2@optitek.org or pm me here. I'm releasing production prints to the shop and would like to know the quantities... turn around about 4-6 weeks -they are not very busy now..

    Very cool Jacek.
How are you overcoming the very soft brass Canon mount with such a heavy lens?
Or are you making stainless mounts? Will you also offer a support for the RPP considering the current configuration only allows support of the camera.
Might I suggest a clamp ring that utilizes the front diameter (110mm) that also has a protrusion diameter of 110mm to still allow a cap to be used.
    Just a thought.

    Matt,
You are a machine, dude. I can hear the gears turning in your head all the way in newbury park...
The support will actually be integrated into the mount on the lens side so there is no strain on the camera mount(other than the camera weight) Much like tripod mount on large tele still lenses. I made it a clip-on so you can remove the lens and swap in seconds.
Look I'm not saying this is right or wrong- just that this is available. I can think of many scenarios to be useful: scouting with the very same lenses you shoot, shooting odds and ends with the very same lenses as the principal, etc.
VDSLRs are here to stay- no doubt about it. Now while you wait for S35 Scarlet you can use cine lenses and go back to PL when it(Scarlet) ships. I try to make it (very) affordable so the investment will pay off on the first job. I could make it a quick change system but it wouldn't be as affordable. If there is enough interest in a quick change system I may still do that as well..

Very interested in a quick change system, if possible. Very cool of you to do this, especially when Scarlet and Epic will have full-on Canon mount options! =)

I hear you Zack, it looks like the universal, quick change way.
    The goal is to :
    1. make no modifications to RPPs so warranty is not affected and they don't have to be sent in.
    2. Make no modification to camera(Canon) for the same reasons.
    3. Make a kit that can be shipped and installed by a reasonably skilled individual- or, preferably, a professional.
    now back to work.
In the interim, I offer a mount and support for RPPs on Canon EOS.....
