After a bit of debate I decided to build a self contained PL to EOS adapter for ALL Canon VDSLRs so it's switchable between 5dII 7D, 1D MIV, and my T1i
The adapter kit quickly munts on the camera, much like a lens and instantly turns it into a PL cam. Now use of RPPs will require modified PL mounts, but once swapped the RPPs will work on BOTH R1 and Canons. Owner operators, Rental facilities rejoyce!!! The support plate is mounted on the adapter so there is no strain on the camera mount whatsoever.
I added an adjustable carry handle(also integrated with the adapter)
    Advantages:
-no mods to the camera required so it warranty is intact.
-the DSLR retains it's value so when new one comes out you can swap the camera- the adapter will work.
-all Angenieux Optimo zooms work with no modifications at all.
-now quick swap of cine lenses for use of Canons as a B cam is possible for perfect (lens)color and perspective match.
Let me know if anything else is needed- this is the time to change things!!!!

Dang, Jacek. You are making it really hard for me not to buy a DSLR. Love the integrated handle. As far as suggestions...maybe an integrated rod mount system?

Angies clear, Cooke zooms clear, RPPs clear, albeit with my PL mount-shorter pilot. I'm offering RPP owners this option for A/B cam use- as promised This is Red forum after all..

Would it be practical to make one of these in a Nikon mount?
