It was way to vivid..
I'm filming planes landing at the Kahului airport here on Maui and am feeling totally ecstatic..
I guess I bought the non fixed cause I'm putting on a 200mm old Manual nikon lens...
There's a very atmospheric and stormy feel in the air.. I'm blown away by the detail in the wake of the jets, ripping through the air as the planes fly over me..
I feel that I'm capturing some B-roll for a film I just finished when I notice one of the planes that was supposed to land just does a touch and go..
I think to myself, hmmm, that's strange it wasn't a military plane when all of a sudden.....
The damn SPRUCE GOOSE comes barreling out of the heavens without wings and it's headed directly at me... I start shuffling to put gear away when I notice it's not going to hit me..
I stand paralyzed, unable to operate the camera as the giant wooden goliath comes smashing down on the runway.. and snaps in two..
The front of the plane tumbles through the airports terminal and crushes it with amazing force.. For a second I remember thinking It was going to crush a nearby Costco as well...
The second half of the plane smashes through the toy planes parked at their respective gates...
Flames, fire and wood fly everywhere.. The sounds are too loud, too clear... A distant part of myself is frustrated that I am not getting this on my new Scarlet... I know something insane just happened... When all of a sudden..
My "motorcycle" iphone alarm begins to go off...
My first groggy thought is to call the Kahului airport and tell them to evacuate...
Once I come to for the morning, I can't recall the dream at all.. Only NOW has it come back in full and vivid clarity..
I can't wait to get a Scarlet.. I guess I'm going for the non-fixed : )
