If you need files NOW, buy Rocket NOW.

If you can wait. Buy whatever is present when you need it...

As an option. There are SDI and non-SDI models of the various NVidia cards. The SDI models generally cost about what the Red Rocket does. The non-SDI models of the same card cost at least $1500 less.

When you install the drivers it ask you how many you have in the system. I guess this is a sign of whats to come.

Are you talking about the live monitor ports? They certainly can record their full resolution to media just like the ONE. Not much point in a 5k monitor feed for field use. What would you watch it on?

A RED ROCKET was worth every penny and justified itself within the first day I purchased it. This thing payed for itself almost instantly not only monetarily but with the piece of mind that the footage was getting a full quality debayer, and not having to hear my girlfriend nagging me about why I was spending so many late nights at the office. Money well spent NOW.

Yep. RED Rocket pays for itself on the first job or two. I really don't know how I would go on without it at this point, it completely redefined my workflow. If something better comes along, which will happen, it's only a question of when, then I will probably trade up. A I will remember the fond memories of my Rocket, just like all the fond memories of other hardware I once used, much of it now collecting dust in my basement.
