LOS ANGELES, CA (March 29, 2010) – In its Palm Sunday world premiere, Lifetime Movie Network’s Original Movie Amish Grace <http://www.mylifetime.com/movies/amish-grace> broke network records in multiple demographics, becoming its highest rated and most watched original movie ever in Households (3.8/2,916,449 viewers), Total Viewers (2.0/4,020,496), Women 18+ (3.5/2,729,834), Women 25-54 (2.7/1,156,363), Adults 18+ (2.4/3,649,266) and Adults 25-54 (1.9/1,585,667).

In addition, Amish Grace became the second highest rated original movie in Lifetime Movie Network’s 12 year history among Women 18-49 (2.1/939,877), Women 18-34 (1.5/328,582), Adults 18-49 (1.4/1,261,901) and Adults 18-34 (0.9/404,949) – all behind the April 2009 premiere of Natalee Holloway (2.5, 2.1, 1.7 and 1.3).

Amish Grace also produced impressive traffic on myLifetime.com <http://www.mylifetime.com/> , where it generated the second highest
day of premiere page views of any original movie for both Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network for
2009 and 2010 (behind Natalee Holloway). The movie’s page views yesterday were 300% higher than
the 2009-10 Lifetime and Lifetime Movie Network Original Movie day of premiere average.

The film, starring Kimberly Williams-Paisley (According to Jim, Father of the Bride Parts I and II), is based on a true story about the aftermath that followed the 2006 schoolhouse shooting in the Amish community of Nickel Mines, Pennsylvania. Amish Grace examines a mother’s (Williams-Paisley) personal journey in which she copes with the tragic loss of her daughter during the shooting and subsequent questioning of her faith. Matt Letscher (Brothers & Sisters, Entourage) portrays her husband, Gideon Graber, and Tammy Blanchard (Life with Judy Garland: Me and My Shadows) stars as the shooter’s wife, Amy Roberts. Amish Grace is based on the book Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy.

    ABOUT AMISH GRACE

The peaceful Amish community of Nickel Mines was forever changed when a gunman senselessly took the lives of five girls in a schoolhouse shooting before taking his own life. What transpires afterwards takes the community by storm when the media descends on the town and criticizes its Amish leaders for their notion of unconditional forgiveness of the shooter and their outreach of support to his widow, Amy Roberts (Blanchard). Devastated by her daughter’s death, Ida Graber (Williams-Paisley) finds herself struggling with her community’s belief of the transcending power of forgiveness. Deeply conflicted and unable to forgive the gunman and his family, Ida is tempted to leave the only life she’s ever known before re-embracing her faith.

    ABOUT THE PRODUCTION

Amish Grace was produced by Larry A. Thompson Organization for Lifetime Movie Network. Larry A. Thompson (Little Girl Lost: The Delimar Vera Story, A Date with Darkness: The Trial and Capture of Andrew Luster) executive produced, and Kyle A. Clark and Marta M. Mobley (Citizen Jane, Mrs. Washington Goes to Smith) produced. Gregg Champion (Miracle Run, 14 Hours) directed the teleplay from Sylvie White and Teena Booth (The Wronged Man, Natalee Holloway). The teleplay was based on a true story and the critically-acclaimed book, Amish Grace: How Forgiveness Transcended Tragedy by Donald B. Kraybill, Steven M. Nolt and David L. Weaver-Zercher. Multiple Emmy® Award-winner Van Broughton Ramsey (Lonesome Dove, Oldest Living Confederate Widow Tells All) was the costume designer and Michael Hancock (Witness, Paper Dolls) was the key makeup artist.

It was a privilege for Keslow Camera to support Director of Photography, Ross Berryman, ACS, ASC ("Dollhouse", "Angel") on his first shoot with the RED One system, and its great to hear it was received so well by Lifetime's audience. Thanks for taking the time to post the info, Michael.
