Quick question for you all - we're trying to save some adjustments to the kelvin and tint for some MX footage in REDCINE X so post prod will be able to get the look the DP wants (we want them to use our looks, not the metadata).

I've created a looks preset and saved it in redcine-x. From what I understand from another thread, the only way that they can get our looks is if I get the file from library/applicationsupport/red/redcinex/looks and send it to post-production and have them place it in the same spot on their system. Is this correct? Is there any simpler way I might be overlooking?

    Thanks!

If you check the "Automatically save RMD files" in the settings menu, RedcineX will automatically create a file in the clip's folder that will contain all the new metadata you just set for it. It's similar to the old RSX format that we had in Red Alert.
So if they open the clip on another computer, Redcine X should normally use the new metadata in the RMD file instead of the original R3D metadata. And you can set different settings for every clip if you want.

    Hello,

Does anyone know if, when saving grades as .RMD files, are RMDs widely supported by color grading facilities? Do colorists access the RMDs is the RSX format still more commonly used?

It depends on the software, and version. You need to check with the individual grading facilities, as there is still a lot of software out there that only supports RSX, not RMD.
