Ok, so far from what I've read, I've decided the best thing for me to do is by the non-fixed scarlet brain. I will used an FD mount and use my manual Canon Primes. So what else do I need Other than..

    Non-Fixed Brain.. $2750
    FD mount... $
    Power/Battery.. $
    WHAT ELSE... $
    Recording to.. $
    .... $

I have an 8" HD monitor, is this usable with Scarlet brain? What are the inputs?

Will someone fill out the prices and what I need in order to be ready to SHOOT!!!

    Thanks!

As long as your monitor takes HDMI i think it should work fine. You would need a cf module and media to record to, a side handle or redmote to control the camera. Now you may need the side handle if you don't want to buy the battery module and if there is not direct power cable that come with the cam.

but in reality we don't have the full details yet so all you can do is guess at what the cost is going to be and how minimal a small package can be. If you think about it cause there is a record button on the camera it self all you really need (to start) is a cf module, media, mount, lens, and power. It would be a fun project, especially if you didn't have a monitor kind of like shooting film but without a viewfinder. Though considering the cost of the redmote I don't know why anyone would pass it up, or the side handle.

edit: here is the latest prices and info on scarlet, though it is most likely going to change or be updated fairly soon...I hope

Don't think an FD mount will be an option, but you can get a C-mount and use an aftermarket FD to C adapter if that is what you want to do. They are pretty cheap and were originally made for 16mm movie cameras. Do FD lenses mount to the Canon EOS lens mount?

I don't think so, I think you would have to get an FD to EOS adapter.

    Also..
No one ever mentions 24fps. I'm sure it shoots 24, correct?

It will shoot any frame rate you want from 1 at a time up to 120fps continous.

I am planning on the interchangeable version too, but will be using 16mm film camera lenses in C-mount or PL mount.
