I'm sure these questions have been asked here before, so I apologize in advance for any redundancies. I have a commercial shoot coming up this weekend that will be transcoding R3D to Avid DNxHD via the REDRocket and as a Final Cut / ProRes guy, I'm a bit unfamiliar with the Avid formats...
I know that REDcine-X has the option to output "Avid AAF + MXF" but the post house is also asking for an "ALE" file. I recall that REDrushes used to export this file, but I don't see any equivalent of that in REDcine-X (obviously, we want to use REDcine-X to take advantage of new color options, and of course, the REDRocket).
Thanks in advance for your advice here. Also, any other advice or cautions you can offer about transcoding to Avid formats that might not be obvious to a ProRes guy would be extremely helpful!
