    David,

Never thought that 3G would be considered for connection to the camera. You are correct - it lacks the reliability that we demand from our equipment - for many reasons besides the two you mention. On top of that, could you imagine paying AT&T just to use the interface? Ack!

The 3G is only good as an internet connection when WiFi is not available, or if you want an extra GPS.

Whether RED chooses WiFi or Bluetooth as the interface with the camera, I'm sure that they are going to test it to death and beyond before staking their reputation on it.

Bump... We just received our Epics but as the Redmotes are pending delivery, (RED are/ were out of stock), the software would really get us up and running.
    Thank you for any information.

So Jarred mentioned the iPad/iPhone controller app was in development two years ago (May 2010) and Ted showed a working prototype at NAB 2011. Any news on this? I could really use it!

    OK

I understand that this a resurrection of a very old thread and that the iPad app for some reason isn't let out yet, but whoa!

THIS is how I want it to work!

I realize the iPad control app could cut into RedMote sales, but I still hope they release it and I would be happy to pay for it. I totally forgot to ask about it at NAB, and I'm wondering if anyone else got any word about it?
