    Hello,

I'm unable to claim tax back and I live in NY at the moment. Buying from Adorama or B&H, I hate paying 8% local sales tax on top of the thousands of dollars of equipment.

Is there a good out of state alternative to these two stores?

    Thanks
My @#@$ is bigger than your @$%@ because I can afford all this equipment:

bla bla bla #666 - "Buchenwald"
    bla bla bla 55mm - 950mm, moded.
bla bla, bla bla, and bla bla bla.

Depending on what you are looking for, we are in Denver. So, no tax for you.

If you are actually in the business of professional production, you can qualify for a Resale Certificate, which means that you will not pay taxes on your local equipment purchases as they are tools for your work for hire. You should check with your accountant.

As an independent shooter, I formed a production company and got a resale certificate from the state. Just a tad bit more complication in my tax filing each year, but having this certificate on file with B&H, Abel, CSC, etc., meant that I could always just walk in the door and never pay sales tax.

Mitch - out of country, no SS number, no accountant and no time.

Try Custom Supply in Birmingham AL 1-800-451-1425.
I've used them in the past. Prices have been comparable to B&H.
I think BJ and/or David are the sales people I have worked with.
