We'll have three Reds with Red zooms, cranes, decks, monitors, full greenscreen studio facility, Ultimatte, Orad 3D HD virtual studio system, and two luxury motorhomes available in Vero Beach starting in January.

Will the majority of Red Rental houses have big budget requirement for indie films? I was reading a forum for Offhollywood productions and the minimum is 3mill. I guess I'm not understanding the meaning of "indie" these days. I'm looking at a production budget of 50k to 100k.

We'll have no such minimum budgets and won't care how much you spend on your production other than what you spend with us.

As far as delivery, it just depends on red so check Jim's posts for updates. Currently, this is the schedule (I am 206)

    Serial numbers 201- 600 November 30th (400 units)
    Serial numbers 601- 1100 December 30th (500 units)
    Serial numbers 1101- 1600 January 30th (500 units)

Price will be whatever is fair at that time, currently estimated at $1000-1200/day.

I will be outfitting it with the birger canon mount and will have Canon 10-22 and 24-70 f2.8 L series for sure. Probably will have 70-200 as well.

I also have 2 sources for PL mount zeiss cine lenses as well.

Champe has RED 216 so will get his at the same time. We will work back and forth to support each other with backup, accessories, multiple camera needs, etc. He currently has the RED zoom on order but that may change based on final tests on Birger mount.

I am in Weston which is just a western suburb of Ft. Lauderdale about 15 miles west of the airport. Champe is in Hollywood about 10 miles from the airport.

Since my main business is manufacturing underwater housings I will have that available in both surf and deepwater versions.

The first 4K underwater footage is being shot in Catalina as we speak. (sept 26, 2007)

"Indie" at some point suddenly started being shorthand for "low budget". Not so. It's short for "independent" as in independent of external control (generally of the Big Studio type).
