I understand that RedCine-X is supposed to take on the rendering responsibilities - and I like the program overall - but running it on a MacBook Pro is pretty strenuous. In addition, all of the complex windows are next to impossible to arrange well on screen, and the black-on-black color scheme makes it hard to find the edges of the windows.
My main purpose for using Red Alert/Cine/etc on set is to take a shot from the camera, rough-in a color correction, and feed those numbers back to the camera so that the monitors now reflect the correct values.
On set I'm probably going to fall back on Red Alert, even though it doesn't yet have full controls for Build 30. It's a shame to disregard the FLUT and Shadow values, but RedCine-X is just too slow and unwieldy for this purpose, at least as it stands now.
Please consider releasing a upgrade of Red Alert for the laptop, on-set users.
Thank You,
Nelson
