  1. #1 Battery - DC
    Hello!
I've been having some problem lately with the battery connection. Or something like that. The thing is that the Red One shows in the display "DC" instead of giving the information of the energy left in the battery that's connected.
Any idea on this matter? Did someone have this same problem?

    Thanks, regaaards!

It could be several things. The two data contacts may not be making good contact in either the battery or the battery plate, the cable could be damaged, there might be a wire off in the Lemo connector on the end of the battery plate cable, a bent pin in the Lemo, a non-RED battery or non-RED battery plate, or a camera fault! Check all of them.

Thanks Eric! I'll take this as a to-check list and see if I can find a solution. Thanks again for your time!

Could be the magnetic reed relay inside the battery that is broken or a wire jumped off somewhere.

Eric's checklist is a good one.

    Using a RED BRICK ?

    Using RED V Plate ?

Are the pins on the cable clean and not bent ?

What is your camera firmware revision ?

I had this and lived with it for a long time.

    Cause: bad connector
Fix: Fixed at RED while upgrading to M-X

If you have another batteryplate, try that.

    - Using a RED BRICK ?

    Yep!

    - Using RED V Plate ?

Yep! Using the red cradle and the battery belt too.

    - Are the pins on the cable clean and not bent ?

    They seem to be ok.

    - What is your camera firmware revision ?

    Last build, 30.

I believe it must be something inside the camera, so... Not a chance to fix it yet. Maybe someday if we do the mx upgrade...

Thanks for your answers and attentioN!!!

I have this problem too - only with one particular RED Brick, some of the time. A while back someone else had this problem and I think it was down to problems with the pins.
