This was shot without a tripod, matte box, monitor, a light meter or any adult supervision. RED 18-50mm zoom.

Jim -- That is so tasty.

Ready to fire up RED #39 and catch the equivalent of the taxis racing full throttle through the streets of NY picking up half alert coffee-addled fares.

    Jim,

I don't know a lot about racing, can you explain the rules of this kind of race? Or is it simply fastest car wins? It looks complex, at least the cars do.

Great looking footage.. What shutter speed?

No kidding... there is so much nitromethane, rubber shreds and crap flying around that it is a miracle that the spots you see... are all you see. I was covered in black sh$t when I got back to the motorhome to look at the footage. Took an hour to clean up.

Shutter speed was about 1/500th, to the best of my memory.

These cars have 8000 horsepower. More in each cylinder than a NASCAR motor. It goes 0-330mph in less than 4.7 sec. (quarter mile). Some of the fastest production street cars do 0-60mph in 4.7 sec. 5 G's at the hit and -5 G's when the two chutes are pulled. Pretty incredible.
