    Hello,
If the title of this post is a little provacative it's because I'm really confused by the lack of info on the topic. I've searched this forum high and low and have seen many unansered posts about this subject.

I can see lens metadata on the LCD screen. What I *can't* find is the same data in the .R3D files. Theres a post in here where Deanan directly answers this question with "it's in the metadata"...but if it's in there, how does one access it?

Any input or suggestions on this topic would be greatly appreciated.

    Best,
    -Matt

The last I heard from Jim was "You can't yet"
And that was about a year ago!

Thanks Antony. If that's still true it would be disappointing and very odd considering the amount of time, design, and energy they've put into designing the RED ONE and some of their lenses with i/data pins and enabling the data to be seen on screen in Build 20.

Has it just been wishful thinking by uninformed customers that have put the words <lens data> and <metadata> together? Were they ever intended to be together by RED?

I know the RED folks are super busy but if someone could take just a moment and give us an update about this, it would be greatly appreciated!

So if that's still true...there must be a way of accessing the data...

Perhaps I should have added more detail to my terse answer :-)

Yes, the lens info IS supposed to be in the R3D metadata.

Jim's response was to me asking how to access it.

Thanks for telling me what you know Antony, it's really appreciated. I guess the mystery of lens data not being available in .r3d file will remain mysterious.
