Let's assume I've got 1 hour 4k material in REDCODE RAW. How long does it take to get it into my Final Cut Pro System after I linked up the HD to my MAC.

    1. Do I need the CineRed Applikation to work with my footage?
    2. Is it necessary to transcode the Footage to a lower res.?
    3. Is FCP able to read the footage directly from the Drive?

The whole Workflow thing is a bit mysterious to me.

In addition to the RAW data file, the camera also records small Quicktime reference files.
These can be opened instantly in any QT application, as long as you have the RED QT codec installed.

So yes you can do instant playback, and instant editing if you want.

    1. no, camera will generate quicktime reference (sort of on the fly proxies) files

    2. no, the quicktime codec will do this on the fly for you

    3. yes (with a future update from Apple & RED), but you can always just drag the quicktime files into FCP (if you have our codec installed on your Mac)

You can also re-generate (instant process) the quicktimes if they're lost or if you want a different decode resolutions (than what the camera generates)
