Throughout today's testing I had the pleasure of using Graeme's 'magic focus assist' and I gotta tell you, it's amazing.

If anyone has read my posts on this before, I was chief skeptic. I saw the static image at NAB and pronounced it 'not-so-magic'. Well after today I love it. I was using it to focus quite a few test scenes.

Using it with the zoom in mode is a killer combo!

Sorry I can't post screen-caps, Jim will do that when he's ready.

yess, I am glad that the Magic Focus assist is looking promising. I was worried about keeping focus w/o an AC on hand.

    Shawn,

Is it possible to post screen grabs of the LCD showing how the Focus assist works?

    Thanks,

Thanks Shawn. I've not seen it yet in camera myself, being stuck up here in the cold north :-)

Jim said in another thread that we're tweaking the look of the focus assist, so he didn't want any photos etc. posted just yet...

Hi Shawn! If you cannot show some grab of view, please tell how it works.
    Thanks,

I thought you knew how it works! It works by "magic", as performed by the legions of magic pixies inside the camera.
