To reiterate my above posts - For people who have existing orders, we are fulfilling those backorders as we speak. If you have not placed an order, no, we are not taking new orders for RED-DRIVE or RED-RAM. They are not on RED.com to purchase. Meanwhile, we are developing additional media options.

    Interesting.

Does that mean that R1 R1/MX owners will be able to use the newly developed recording solutions?

I expect 64GB Red CF's are ready to drop any moment now, but they're also close to releasing some kind of improved Red Drive/Red RAM/SSD configuration that will be Epic/5K ready (and Red One reverse-compatible??)

New media options are all very good and exciting, but I am questioning myself what to do if my Red Drives go bye-bye before the new media options come out.

I own a Red One and a Red Drive. The decision to drop the Red Drive at this time seems rather odd. Normally, you don't drop a product until the "new and improved" replacement product is ALREADY AVAILABLE. The reason I chose the Red Drive is because of its large capacity. It allows you to continue shooting without any worry about whether or not you're going to fill the thing. I certainly hope that some sort of large capacity hard drive will be available (which will also be backward-compatible with the Red One).

We have two red drives. We have currently lost one of them. I see the new SSD solution is now coming soon? We need a replacement now. If we replace one drive with the SSD base how will we mount it on our existing RED1 mount? This looks like it could become very awkward.... Do we have any time line. Any way to get another red1 mag any way to mount these two very different kinds of drive onto our camera interchangeably?
