    I guess I should feel lucky I got my Red Drive when I did! I'm guessing the move away from Red Drives is because of problems with reliability? Is this correct? I know I've had issues with mine not recording takes, but with only a 3 month warranty, they always seem to fail at the 4 month mark.

    It's a possibility that's the reason because while the Red Drive enclosure seems hammer-proof, the spinning disks inside are still vulnerable.

    Always thought it was probably because the new SSD media will better handle higher input needs, are vibration proof, plus being lightweight. All-around just a better solution.
