  1. #1 ESATA from Red Camera to PC?
This is a clients drive with the RedOne Camera 4k files….I have it hooked up from the drive by ESATA to Sata on my motherboard. It shows up in disk management but not in my computer? It does NOT give me the option to give it a drive letter. It only gives me an option to make a New Simple Volume in the unallocated space…..I assume his files are in the 931GB Primary Partition? What do I do so I can read these files in the primary partition?

    Ralph,

    Is this a RED Drive?

If so, RED Digital Cinema provides no official support for SATA/eSATA transfers between RED Drives and computers. The interface is designed for connection to camera only. Use the USB2/FW400/FW800 connections for your transfers. The drive will mount properly there for easy transfer.

If this is a standard computer SATA drive

I infer from your post you are using Windows. If your client works in the Macintosh world, you may be dealing with Mac/PC file structure differences. Buy/download/install MacDrive to give your Windows computer the ability to fully use Mac-formatted drives.

Looks like a Mac formatted drive to me. You can do the MacDrive thing, or plug it into a Mac. Or you could have your client supply you with a drive you can read. The latter looks kinda bad to clients sometimes to ask for them to re-give in a new format when what they have supplied is something completely standard... Just sayin'
