For 3-6 months from today, that is, March/April 2008:

T1.3/18mm, T1.3/25mm, T1.3/35mm, T1.3/50mm, T1.3/85mm Optar Illumina Primes for much less than the Zeiss Primes but same Mark III concept. Same quality and equivalent design.

T3/16-64mm Optar Illumina Zoom -- same vibe.

    Few months later:

    T1.9/9.8mm (not fisheye)

    S35mm coverage.

Here is. This tuesday, October 2 (in the United States 'cause it's already October 3th 3:00 AM here in Europe where I am now), as promised.

I think it's great you are trying to get some good deals running, but to get the interest of a lot of people on this forum, you will need to compete with the RED primes.

Just my two cents.. Looking forward to seeing what you have!

if one is considering the new optar illumina then one should also take a look at the optica ELITE lens - they offer S35mm primes & 35 digital primes and they are in the 4500euro area ...
the problem for us in the USA is the US dollar keeps falling - i believe both illumina & Elites are made in Russia but they are pirced in euro's !!!

Don't worry Don, the Optar Illumina will be priced in dollars.

    Weird jump in barrel lengths from 22 - 24 & 28 - back to 35. Wonder why?

Wait a minute Jay. I'm not Optar Illumina. You could ask first, right? :-)

Just for the record, AFAIK these will be less expensive and 1 stop faster than the RED primes.

I am really looking forward to these lenses... makes me want to get my B4 HD lens first and wait on the Optar Illuminas... zoom and primes.

    Thanks for the info Emanuel.

    Cheers,

    Andrew
