And it supports the OpenFX plug-in architecture.
Sounds amazing!!!
They hit a home run with this release. Support for > 8bit color throughout the workflow. Open Effects (BCC is now available at a discount) with others to come. Native support for Cineform (via the Cineform SDK, not vfw). Bunch of other cool stuff.
Is there a "side grade" for this one? In the past you could get Vegas pro 9 for $399 as a side grade from fcp and others.
If you have a legal copy of earlier version of Vegas Pro, the upgrade price is 139.00 for download, 149.00 for packaged version, plus they throw in a freebie (software or training videos) I opted for the packaged version plus the training videos (download only).
If you haven't received an email, you can go to sonycreativesoftware.com, log in/register then go to the Vega Pro forum for the link.
You will need a valid registered serial number to qualify.
Plus they don't specify which earlier version you need, so if are you still on 8 or 7 you qualify.
Did anybody check if Vegas 10 can now read correctly the TC from the R3D files?
I am not using TC either but when i exported the EDL from Vegas 9.0 to RC-X all the in/out points were wrong. Then we found out that the EDL was correctly exported but the problem was that Vegas couldn't reed the Timecodes from the R3D files.
I am glad you say it works now. I have to upgrade I guess!
