  1. #1 Gymkhana 3.2 shot on RED MX
Here is the latest in the Gymkhana series. Insane driving by Ken Block once again.
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4TshFWSsrn8

It was shot on Red MX, HPX 170, Canon 5D MarkII, Canon 7D, and Go Pro. The POV was Canon and Go Pro. The main driving shots were about 80 percent Red MX and 20 percent HPX 170. It is pretty easy to see the difference even at the low res youtube version that is linked. There were two trips to the location. Since DC did not see any reason to list the crew on the credits here are the players.

Directed by- Joshua Martelli, Matt Martelli- Mad Media

    Trip 1
    Camera A- Mike McEntire
    Camera B- Jay Schweitzer
    Audio- Doug Edge
    First AC- Sherri Miranda
    First AC- Nathan Garafolos
    POV- Ryan Holdridge
    Photographer- Vincent Knakal
Production Assistants- Eddie Barreto, Brian Thompson, Patrick Guera
Behind the Scenes- Tobin Yelland, Ross Haines

    Trip 2
    Camera A- Mike McEntire
    Camera B- Joshua Martelli (Director)
    Audio- Doug Edge
    POV- Ryan Holdridge
    Photographer- Vincent Knakal
    Production Assistant- Eddie Barreto
    Behind the Scenes- Ross Haines

This was a beast to film due to on and off storms and a very short window to work with. Also most of the segment was filmed on Trip 2 with minimal support and minimal sleep.
    Hope you enjoy,
    Mike

Wow they credited the "stunt" Segway rider but not the camera ops/crew. Anyways, great job it's a sweet video those DC Gymkhanas are are always fun to watch.

I've been excited since the first one came out, I really have to say i couldn't wipe the smile off my face for close to 20 min after watching it yesterday. Since you wernt using a phantom on this shoot did you guys have any ideas of slowing footage down in post with say Twixtor? Im gonna be producing a show promo in Oct and Able doesn't have cert classes for phantom available till Dec it seems. So im wondering what kind of speed ramps you could get out of 120fps footage from a red one using twixtor and not even bothering with a phantom.

Well Gymkhana 2 had some phantom shots and this was meant to be more hardcore driving. I have used twixtor on some slo mo red stuff and it looks great. Long renders but fantastic results.

Mike, I love your work on these gymkhana vids. I think its so cool that you're here on reduser too. I'm assuming you shot at 2k to get higher fps? The twixtor on slowmo shots definitely turned out well.
