    Hi Guys ,
i am used to do dailies in scratch , but now for timing reason i am approaching the idea of use redcine X,

i am using the very last beta (321 64bit) + Snow leopard + RedRocket

i have to process some dailies (12 hours , 700 shots)
my dailies are divided in 3 days of shooting , each day is more or less 250 shots ,

if i try to select all of them (250) and drag into the timeline , redcine X sometimes crash right away , sometimes it load them up after 1 min spinning cursosr , and sometimes it crash when i load the secnd batch (another250) ...I am using a FW800 Gtech drive

i am wondering if you guys can successfully load so many clip at the time in the timeline without crashing

    thanks

I remember I had to do 1500 clips and RedRocket and the ROCKETCINE-X combination finished the job in few days.

I tend to transcode all my dailies directly from the bin - perhaps there is a memory issue when making a timeline?

    Thanks guys,
I have 12 GB of ram...

But I want to scroll through the takes for very fast adjustments the only way is the timeline right ?(I mean, from the bin even the next clip button would not work and I shoul click on each clip individually...

Also ,the latest rocket firmware does not support rocketcine anymore right?

Anybody can load with success and smoothly something lime 12 hours of footage on a redcine X timeline ?

    Thanks

Although the ROCKETcine-X does not support the latest Red Rocket frimware, the last version that support does come with FLUT science with REDgamma, REDcolor, FLUT and shadow, so you could render with the same color science as the latest REDLINE. One thing you would miss is the RCX's gamma/gain/lift controls in each RGB and luma which is really big to me.

I checked with Deanan about the color science on the last ROCKETcine-X, so you can take my word for it.

I have problems with RCX crashing if I try to load more than 100 clips or if I have a slow (USB) drive connected. If I load clips and try to scroll the bin it crashes.

The latest version with redesigned browser seems better, but I haven't test much.

Thanks kaku...but i should downgrade the firmware right...?

mmm...so i am not the only one that crash with more than 200 clips...

anyone that have not this problem???

i am trying to understand if is is a limitation of the software , or if there ia way to make it work ?
    otherwise any turn around?
can i load let say 200 clips than add it to the batch encode, than load another 200 on the timeline , grade it , add it to the batch etc...and at the end start the batch?

PS:i always blamed the missing prores in scratch and teh speed of rendering QT (14 fps) ...but in redcine x seems you cannot even load the clips...!!!!!
    thanks

Browse a mag - drag to bin - export to queue - empty bin

    Repeat.

Works for me - just did a huge run and the queue seems stable - it's the bin/timeline that crashes.

I would love to do that , but my problem that i have managed to have everything on the timeline (no crash this time) so i have graded and adjusted the clips ,
than i have exported (timeline selected clip (selecting all)) but it regurlary crash every 20 clips ...

i think the timeline is the issue but now seems that the grade i did can be recalled only in that project on the timeline (i have saved the project)
if i open another project and drag the clip on the bin ....the grade i did is not there...

am i doing something wrong?I mean can i have that grade on that saved session loaded on another clean project?

    thanks
