Hello, Some of my clips show blank green slug half way through the clip. I've been searching through the forums and I'm wondering if there is any solution other than buying or renting a redrocket for transcoding. I've updated all my red software and I've tried transcoding with FCP 3 log and transfer, REDCINE-X, and REDrushes, but still had the green slug issue.

I then tried REDundead, which seemed to work, but I was unable to open the newly generated files in any of the above programs or with Red Alert. If proxy files are needed to open the files (for a correct file structure), how would I create them if I'm unable to open the new R3D files?

The footage is from a Red Camera with the updated mysterium sensor. I'm working from the saved files on an external hard drive and I no longer have access to the CF cards that we shot on.

Any other ideas on how to solve this issue?

    Thank you!!!

Try REDAlert to regenerate the proxies, that might work.

If you're seeing the green slugs in the external drive backups in Redcine-X and Redalert, and Redcine-X can't open the newer REDundead R3D files, then your original clips may have been corrupted during backup, or were like that from the camera, and wasn't spotted by your DIT/Data Manager. If so it's probably unlikely regenerating proxies will have any effect. The proxies reference the R3D files, not the other way round.

How long is the green slug - a few frames or half the clips?

In the end, I think this is a question for Deanan or Graeme!
