Would a 4X4 filter/ mattebox cover the Red 18-50mm lens at the 18mm focal length?

    thanks in advance.

A clampon might, it depends on how many stages are in the mattebox and the angle of the fixed sunshade. Easiest way to find out is to head to a rental house...

EDIT: Also depends on your aspect ratio - 4.5K will be a tough proposition, but 4K 16:9 or 4KHD might be fine.

FWIW our MB-20 with three 4x5.65 stages BARELY clears the 18mm RPP. The clampon LMB15, also three 4x5.65 stages, clears just fine, and a 4x4 tray in the rear (towards lens) clears the 18mm RPP.
