    Hello,

I have the possibility of building a RAID matrix on my mainboard (an ASUS P6T6 WS Revolution) which works through the Intel ICH10R Southbridge and can do 0,1,5,10 configurations.
Anyone has experience with this. Is it a reliable way to go if I can't really afford errors or downtime ? A friend of mine built a internal raid matrix on his mainboard (can't remember what brand or controller) and had some problems in the first month. Not nice.

Can you recommend a good software to accurately report the RAID speed once installed ?

I'm also looking for something like this http://www.raidsonic.de/en/products/..._objectID=6167. Know any other manufacturers that have something similar ( and with a fast eSATA connection ? )

    Thanks,
    Mike

If you can't afford downtime then you are probably better off with hardware RAID controller. (ATTO or Areca are popular choice) Most software RAID solution (from motherboard or OS) will require you to go offline for rebuilt.

The market is flooded with 4-5 bay eSATA RAID solutions, just look at newegg for example. http://www.newegg.com/Store/SubCateg...r-RAID-Systems

For benchmark, i think most people use AJA System Test or the Blackmagic equivalent 'Disk Speed Test'
