Hey guys, I am really excited to be finally posting our official teaser to Code Z :The Series here on Red User
I have been an official Red User member since mid 2009 and have been following aka lurking :-) on these boards for years. I even participated in a couple of "Michael Jackson: This Is It documentary" posts made last year, which got me a nice personal response back from Jim. Thanks again Jim.

Many people really don't realize that Michael Jackson's love for both movies and film making were equally as important to him as his love for music. Film was definitely going to be the next chapter in his life. He was so excited about Red and the Red camera. We would often talk a lot about it over the phone.
In fact, the two of us were going to be a directing team. Unfortunately my uncle passed before his film dreams could materialize.

I will never ever forget the last words my uncle Michael said to me in person, "After this, we're doing film". He had such excitement in his eyes. His game plan was to finish the "This Is It" concerts and then retire from music and concentrate on films.

Since my uncle's untimely passing, I've been determined to try and become the best filmmaker I could be in his honor. With the incredible help and support of my partners in crime (Thayana, Thaina ,Thaisa), we created Code Z, a zombie action series about three zombie hunters during the apocalypse. Code Z is a very low budget independent production and modeled in the vein of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Currently we have just the teaser cut together but we will have more soon. We hope you enjoy it.

yeah, your uncle was the best kind of showbusiness person who understood what it took and the hard work of everyone involved.

Congrats on keeping his flame alive in your own work.

Thanks so much guys for the support and encouraging words. I started off knowing nothing about Red and this RedUser message board has been such an incredible resource and lifesaver. I also went to an incredible and affordable "Red School" before Code Z was shot ... aka bought and read Noah Kadner's Red book, then watched Jay A. Kelley's Red 101 DVD and finally enrolled myself in Kappa Studios' Red Bootcamp. But one of the smartest things I learned before production (which I read on this board) was... hire a skilled DP and don't try and do it all yourself. We took that advice and hired Nate Tieman. We are so happy with the look we were able to achieve on Code Z, thanks to Nate and Red.

Taj, great to see that you are hanging out on this forum. Also interesting to hear that you and Michael were planning on making some films together. what kind of projects had you discussed? I still feel to this day that Thriller is the benchmark by which all other music videos are judged.

The zombie project looks entertaining. Brazilian Triplets. How can that not sell. seriously, the trailer looks great and looks like it will be a lot of fun.

keep sharing your work. look forward to seeing more.

Congratulations it looks amazing. I was original going to ask in what way the video was inspired by Michael, until I read who you were. If anyone could be inspired by Michael - filmvise - it would have to be you. Your common filmprojects sounded very interesting.
