    Is that corrugated cardboard spray-painted black wrapping the EVF? Based upon the wording carefully used, I'd say this is a very early prototype.

    It's looks like a 3d print from a rapid prototyping 3d printer.

    Again it looks like it came out of a rapid prototyping 3d printer, specifically a SLS machine. These are pretty common nowadays for making physical versions of your cad/cam models to assemble into working prototypes.
