Now this is a situation I can relate to. Been there, blown out the view out the door and window. Would probably need at most a reflector to light up the talent inside in a natural way - maybe not even that.

Like how the deep dof shows off the detail outside, though in real life might try for shallower dof. For that would need ND's. Crazy - shooting in a dark barn with NDs so I can blur the detail outside!

    Gimme that Scarlet with HDRx!

Astounding (astounding that the Scarlet fixed, too, will be able to achieve something close to this)! I, for one, am not complaining about the (quite equitable) price increase in exchange for light capturing abilities such as this. I support RED.

Glad to see you made the choice of the 17-50mm, I think you will be very pleased the more you use it.
    Cheers

Funny thing, my biz partner Ivan and I were strolling around the Venetian during NAB and ran across Peter Lik's gallery. He had a video wall out front that was displaying some beautiful but pretty low res footage. We were like, this is an opportunity! So we walked in and started talking to the guy at the desk about how Peter should hire us to shoot stuff on the RED camera. After hearing us out, he was like, actually Jannard is building Peter a custom RED One. Doh!

Peter Lick shoots amazing medium format and large format landscapes. I can not wait to see what he does with the 645 and 617 Epics.

    Jim,

Any chance we can see what that most difficult to pull off lighting shot - the interior of a car with exterior in view?

Your eyes would have to adjust before looking outside.

You can pull down the outside and get a great image also. Everythings there.
Likewise for the interior, there's alot more you can dig into the shadows.

Are you sure this camera is aimed at professional or amateurs who can now shoot professional ?? :)

So does the Histograph look the same in the HDR setting or are there a few more bumps to take in to consideration. Just wondering how the exposure is come to. Same as before or with a few more considerations.

My definition of professional is "those that dream higher".
