RED rental in the UK - who's first?

Hi to all,

Can I get an idea of who holds the first few RED's for rent in the UK from the owner / ops? Particularly those with two cameras. Two features going - one mid-November (I understand that one could be unlikely - currently its Viper), one February.

Mine films is the first to have Red in the UK, probably from next month, although I'm not sure if they are renting theirs. Ours (Camera Speed Hire) is coming end of Feb which is probably too late for you, but will be available for rent (no DIT/operator/any other gubbins required to go along with it, other than insurance). We'll be based in Twickenham studios by then.

Hi Dee,

As far as public knowledge goes Rory Hinds is the first to receive his camera (#63) and I believe Colm is the second (#171). Both of which should have their camera before mid November though obviously I cannot vouch for whether they could or would be in a position to rent it out, you'd need to speak to them.

Myself and a one or two others should be receiving the cameras November 30th or around that date (However long it takes to have the thing sent through customs!). I'm sure by mid February there will be a few on the block to rent. If you want some hands on beforehand I'd be more than happy to help out.

I will hopefully receive my camera by end of this month and after a bit of testing it will be ready for hire. I'm afraid I have only one camera available to begin with, another on the way but not for a few months. Send me a private message for more info.

Yes we are the first get have RED in the UK. The camera ships out next week and I'll be out shooting.

Hi Rory

We have a shoot coming up shortly that we were planning on shooting on HDCAM, however as we have a Red ordered (Ships Jan/Feb) we're really keen to get to grips with one asap.

Shoot will most likely be two days and could take place either in London or in Glasgow/Edinburgh. If you're interested, can you e-mail me with an idea of costs for this?
