For myself?
I really think the iPad idea is cool...
And Wave.
CP-200 is a must as it is "everywhere"
CP-100 is most of "the other places".
But the iPad is really engaging as an idea.

The iPad is a very engaging idea but it obviously has drawbacks, however it also has a lot of positives ie. light, mobile, cheap, readily available (lots of people have them). It definitely would not be a waste of resources to make an app for the iPad for Storm interaction. Pretty much guarantee that most indie's with a scarlet would use it, despite the drawbacks. Be especially great for on the move.
I did think that someone could design a skin for the iPad with ribbed circular holes so at least you could feel by touch where they are rather than always having to look down.
Course a cintiq would be quite cool too...
Is MC Color supported with MC control as well?
MC Color for windows
The iPad app could optionally feedback to Storm an overlay image of the trackballs providing visual feedback. Low volume audio feedback would also help, clicks or something less annoying. It could have other control modes such as sliders and color gradients.
If The Foundry does develop an app you should charge for it, to pay for development, as Tim said every one would get it.
An SDK that allowed for hooks into the controls of Storm would allow indie developers to come up with entirely different control paradigms.
Please keep the Tangent CP200 panels high up on your list. I've always associated TheFoundry's tools with die-hard professional workflows, so it would be a shame if you only decided to support the lower-end Wave panel, as there are a ton of colorists out there who operate the 200s as if it were a natural extension of their body, so buying and adjusting down to a Wave isnt a very attractive prospect :)
Thanks Chris.
I'm looking forward see Storm with MC Color + MC control (Speed up Combo).
Not sure about the iPad thing. As a multi-touch gesture surface, yes, that would be interesting, even useful. But I don't see the need for it to have much visual feedback on the iPad screen itself, other than maybe some general status indicators and if it requires any specific viewing for placement of your fingers, then the advantage of a control surface is lost. I see a lot of iPad "control" apps popping up on the market for this and that and many for color correction. IMO, none of them are using the iPad in a good way for this. When doing color work, the colorist needs to keep his eyes on the monitor, not looking for controls or checking where his fingers need to be. There's no good way to guaranty consistency or to calibrate an iPad display to anything worthwhile, so you won't want to be looking at it for color feedback. To look at it for controls is silly too as that takes your eyes away from what you should be looking at.
An iPad control app that works like a Magic Touchpad on a steroid+crack milkshake would be welcome though. Something that gives a mode notification, some status feedback and otherwise is a just a touch surface to interpret gestures. It would be cool to support multi-touch, even 4 and 5 finger, gestures to control much of what is on the display... Pinches to expand or contract ranges, rotations to select different controls or operations, tap-pinch to fine-tune, etc.. One hand on the keyboard, the other on the iPad or multi-touch trackpad/iPad would be a powerful combination.
All the coloring control apps I've seen so far for the iPad are just silly to me. They're all analogous to driving a car with multi-touch, but you have to take your eyes off the road so you can manipulate the steering and other controls by widgets on the screen.
