    Hello all,

Just had the pleasure of directing a music video with the RED. As we get into the editing stage, we want to make sure that we do not lose the 4K image quality that our DP so wonderfully captured.

So our shoot had various frame rates/sizes--mostly 4K stuff, some 3K slowmotion stuff, etc.

We also shot in front of green screen and intend on keying and doing other animation/compositing work in After Effects.

We'll be editing on a Macbook Pro (2.66 GHz processor, 8 GB ram).

What's the best way of going about this, keeping in mind we want to output with that beautiful raw image quality?

    Thanks in advance!

Edit: Thought about using the proxy files, but not sure how that will work out with all the effects (sending to After Effects), etc.

There's thousands of threads on this topic here, so I'll just add one piece of advice: don't do it on a MacBook pro. Apart from the fact that you can't connect fast storage AND a video output device so you can CC it properly, it will be a slow, painful process.

    Good luck.
