When working with RAW stills, it is common practice to enhance the dynamic range of a photo by using two exposure-levels for the same pic. For example, when I shoot real-estate interiors, I’ll often key out the white, over-blown windows and add detail from another export of the same pic (with lower exposure-level to show exterior detail).

I can foresee this effect looking “fake” on video if taken to the extreme, but it’d be nice to add just a touch of detail in a blown-out sky or window.

Has this been tried yet and if so, is it slick? easy to achieve?
